I'm passionate about designing and creatining scalable, performant Software Systems, along with APIs and tools that are pleasurable to code against. I ensure that those systems work smoothly from the client-facing JavaScript code, up to back-end services and database queries.
As as DevOps believer, I attempt to automate everything (mostly with PowerShell). I also don't mind a little system administration.
Appveyor is a great CI service for Windows apps. It’s simple, free (for open-source) and easy to setup. Sometimes even public, open source projects may want to have private subrepositories. Appveyor supports such a setup and in this post I will show you, how to configure private subrepo for mercruial.
Powershell is now Open Source. This perfectly complies with “Microsoft loves Linux” philosophy. Hardcore Bash users will probably ignore it anyway, but for many PowerShell fans that also work with Linux systems it will be a big treat.
Web Deploy is a great way to publish websites if you use Windows + IIS hosting, especially inside company’s infrastructure.
Net Core 1.0.0 has been released some time ago and is here to stay. Maybe it’s time to move “old” dnx projects forward and switch to dotnet? Because, as someone avesome said: new is always better!
